Is your dog’s behavior taking over your life?

Balanced dog training in Milwaukee designed for real life AND real, lasting behavior change.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by differing opinions and overly complex, conflicting training advice?

If you’re not sure where to start, or what to do next, I can help you make sense of your dog’s training and behavioral issues.

Many training programs fall short because they either overcomplicate the training process or overlook the owner entirely. I do things differently. Coaching you is every bit as important as training your dog, so you can actually create lasting change.

Training That
Fits In Your Life

No cookie-cutter plans here. Every program is specifically tailored around your dog’s behavior, your goals, and what works in your day-to-day routine.

“We were really considering if we could manage with our dog and two little ones but after working with Bradley we finally have structure and healthy boundaries that keep everyone happy and safe.”

-Bianca Rojas

Confident Leadership
Clear Expectations

I teach you how to communicate effectively, so your dog knows what to do, what not to do, and how to succeed in everyday situations.

“One of the best moments was at the farmers' market. We were surrounded by barking dogs and crowds, she simply looked up at us, laid down, and stayed completely calm.”

Behavior Change
That Lasts

By using rewards and consequences, I help you and your dog build lasting habits rooted in clarity and consistency, in and out of the home.

“I feel much more comfortable about his recall and being off leash. Rome rarely reacts to other dogs now, and I now know the correct way to avoid it or handle it, if it occurs.”

Hi, I’m Bradley.

Before I trained dogs, I taught humans (I was a teacher). That experience gave me a rare superpower: the ability to guide people with the same patience and structure I bring to training dogs. I know how overwhelming it can feel when your dog’s behavior takes over your life. My job is to help you make sense of it all.

Together, we will be able to reach your training goals in a grounded, holistic way, all WITHOUT shame or judgment.

My own journey began with my dog Argo, a strong-willed adoptee who turned everything I thought I knew about dogs upside down. Training Argo wasn’t easy, but it taught me something big.

Lasting behavior change happens when you lead with clear communication, consistent follow-through, and predictable routines. Animals deeply desire to know where they belong in a pack or family system. Denying them this is not kindness.

These lessons shaped my entire approach and became the foundation of Canine Communication. Today, I help Milwaukee dog owners create calmer households and stronger relationships with the dogs they love (especially the difficult ones).

Milwaukee dog owners like you are finding relief, results, and a happier life with their dogs.

Three Programs. One Goal: A Better Life With Your Dog.

Every dog and every household is different. That’s why I offer three flexible training formats designed to meet you where you are and help you get where you want to be.

1-on-1 Private Lessons

Get personalized, in-home coaching with me, Bradley. I’ll work with you step by step right in your home environment. You’ll learn how to communicate effectively with your dog, reinforce positive behaviors, and handle challenges with confidence.

Hybrid Training

A bit more immersive than the private lessons program, with 4 in-home lessons followed by a mini board & train. We’ll start the process together, then I’ll accelerate things. Towards the end of the program and beyond, we’ll work together to maintain your momentum and success at home.

Board & Train

Your dog stays with me for a fully immersive week of training, and I coach you on how to use the training during a go-home lesson on Saturday. You’ll practice with your dog over the weekend and bring them back the following week. Most board and train programs run 4 weeks in length.

What makes Canine Communication different?

The way I train.

Clear communication for dogs AND humans. My goal is to make you a confident, competent dog handler so you can create real, long-lasting change.

Balanced training means we say “yes” and “no” clearly, calmly, and consistently.

This approach rewards the behaviors we want and addresses the ones we don’t to facilitate behavioral changes that will hold up under real-world distractions.. At its core, this system builds clear communication between dog and human, so your dog understands what’s expected, how to earn rewards, and how to avoid consequences.

The result? A relationship built on structure, trust, and mutual understanding.

I teach life skills so you and your dog can handle real-world stress, together.

“The training is a game changer. Our dog liked to be very selective about when he came inside and would pull us all over on walks. Now he comes when we call and is great on walks. Couldn’t recommend more.”

Step 3

Start Training With Confidence

You’ll learn what to do, how to do it, and start seeing real change.

  • I am a balanced trainer. That means I teach your dog what to do, what not to do, and how to succeed in the real world. Training is all about developing a reliable language between you and your dog so you can give them clear information on what you want versus what you don’t want.

In a nutshell, I strongly believe that true love are kindness are based in honesty. I always prefer to be direct with a dog to let them know exactly what I expect.

  • Due to the many factors involved in a dog’s success at home, including owner consistency and follow-through, I can’t offer a 100% guarantee.  However, I will promise you this: I’ll give you my total commitment in helping you reach your goals. You’ll get support every step of the way. As long as you’re willing to put in the work on your end, we’ll be able to make great progress together.

  • It ultimately comes down to you and your lifestyle.

In-home private lessons are great for motivated dog owners who have the time and discipline to be consistent in implementing gradual changes. You will be largely responsible for the early teaching stages of the training program, and will have more homework than the other options.

Board and train programs, on the other hand, are much more intensive. You will typically only learn about the final stages of the training program. In other words, I will take care of all the teaching stages, then coach you on how to use, enforce, and generalize the training, including how to integrate it into your life and meet any specific goals you have. Throughout this process, we will spend a good deal of time focusing on your handling and communication skills so that you are competent and confident in working with your dog even when I am not around.

Hybrid training programs are a nice marriage of the other options, starting off with a few in-home lessons to get you more involved in teaching stages, and ending with a two-week board & train program to finish things off.

Most behavioral issues can be accommodated in any program.

I usually recommend that you follow your intuition about which program will work best for you. But you don’t have to decide now! Reach out. I’d be happy to discuss it with you and help you decide which option is the best fit for you and your dog.

  • I use tools like prong collars, e-collars, slip leads, and food rewards, always chosen for their safety, effectiveness, and ability to create clear communication between you and your dog. When used properly, these tools are humane and supportive for both of you.

While I typically follow a proven training system,  I’m not 100% married to it. Every dog is different, and I have a wide toolbox of methods and techniques to pull from if your dog needs a different approach. I’ll start with what works best for most dogs and adjust based on your specific situation.

Every training client gets an individualized plan and my full support to help you and your dog reach your goals together.

E-collars (like the Mini Educator) use a gentle sensation similar to a TENS unit in physical therapy.  Once a dog is conditioned to an e-collar, it can be used to communicate with them in any situation, ensuring off-leash reliability and safety. E-collars also allow us to safely give effective corrections.

Whatever training tools or protocols we end up implementing, my goal is always to establish and maintain a consistent and reliable language between human and dog. I’ll show you exactly how to use each tool so you feel confident and your dog feels supported.

Caveat: I do not believe in force-free training. If you are 100% opposed to using training tools or giving your dog direct, clear feedback, we are not going to be a good fit to support one another or your dog.

  • Yes, I work with all kinds of behavior issues, including fear, aggression, and reactivity. I don’t believe in labeling dogs as “bad.” I teach them that some behaviors are unacceptable, to cope with their emotions in more productive ways, and help them to make better choices. I also help YOU understand how to handle, lead, and manage your dog, and what routines to implement to support long-lasting success.
